Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry are having a two-fisted celebration for BlackTail’s first anniversary. After opening just one year ago, the cocktail hotspot has already been crowned “Best New American Cocktail Bar” at 2017 Tales of the Cocktail.
The groundbreaking bar has also impressed critics and tipplers with its Cuban-inspired cocktails, food and décor.
In honor of the milestone, the bar is announcing a new menu that tells the astonishing story of Cuba’s “gangsterismo” era, when the U.S. Mafia nearly succeeded in subjugating the entire nation to its criminal aims.
The story is told by T.J. English, the true crime author of “Havana Nocturne,” a definitive account of the era, which rose to #7 on the New York Times bestseller list.
The new menu sports an array of inventive cocktails that will be served, including BlackTail’s reimagined takes on the Mojito, Pina Colada and more.
BlackTail dishes include Spiced Chicharrones, Sloppy Joe Empanadas, Crispy Rabbit Fritters, Shrimp & Calamari Ceviche, Rabbit Cuban Sandwiches and more.
