Catch the big game at one of the best sports bars on Staten Island
If Staten Island has a specialty it’s sports bars — so you can afford to be choosey. Here are our picks for the best places to watch the game on the island.
1. Millers Ale House
Address: 2883 Richmond Avenue Staten Island, NY 10314
Hours: Mon-Thurs 11am-1am Fri-Sat 11am-2am Sun 11am-12am
This all-american sports pub chain is best known for its dirt cheap prices (where else can you get a cocktail for $4?) and its traditional bar menu that includes loaded fries and nachos. With many beers on tap you are sure to drink all night for a reasonable price. There is lots of energy flowing through here with bartenders screaming orders back and forth, servers hustling burgers and beers to patrons, and rock music cranking through the speakers. Highlights include: 40 TV’s, $10 margaritas, and the biggest platter of nachos you’ve ever seen.
2. Rookies Sports Bar and Grill
Address: 1547 Arthur Kill Road Staten Island, NY 10312
Hours: 11am-4am Everyday
Monday nights here are renowned for their $0.50 wings, $1 drafts from 8pm to 11pm and all night “ladies drink for free” scheme. There ate plenty of DJ nights throughout the week, too, so get your groove on. The bar space is actually quite polished compared to your typical sports bar. Its a champagne environment with spare change prices as the owner Bridget says. All of the food they make is fresh to order and nothing comes frozen so thats something to look forward to as well. From $2 nachos to their notorious $15 prime rib special is all you need at a “sports bar” right?
3. PLAY Sports Bar
Address: 2 Sneden Avenue Staten Island, NY 10312
Hours: 11am to 4am Mon-Sat Sun 12pm to 4am
PLAY offers 75 different brews, an outdoor beer garden and college nostalgia. Its usually packed when a New York sports team is playing. Before or after the game stop by for the DJ, beer pong or darts.
